In 1990, Barbara Bristow and Jan McCurdy, after working professionally with seniors and their families in a number of settings, realized that services for frail seniors were offered under many auspices and by numerous local and state agencies. Responding to unmet needs and family frustrations they embarked upon a service that would provide evaluative information, intervention strategies and on-going support. This new company, Senior Care Management, joined a growing group of private professionals known as Professional Geriatric Care Managers, now numbering several thousand companies and agencies across the US. As pioneers in this field in New Jersey, they have expanded their professional staff and added high quality home health services. |
